I’m trying to track down the last resting place of two of my great aunts who died during the Second World War in Malta. Frances Patricia (Patsy) Cutter (1923-1942) was killed in the Regent Cinema bombing in Valletta and her sister Margaret (Maggie) Cutter (1935-1942) died of a sudden short illness that same year.
My great grandparents Charles Henry Cutter (who served in the Royal Marines and was a military supply clerk during WWII) and Dolores Paola Giuseppe Borg lived on Our Lady of Sorrows Street at the time and said that they could see their girls gravesite from the roof of their house. I have confirmation that they are not buried at Ta’ Braxia, so that only really leaves the Military Cemetery at Pietà. I've contacted the Commonwealth War Graves Commission in Malta to see if there's a comprehensive list including civilian burials but wondered if anyone else could give me any pointers so that I can locate them both.
I now have a location for Frances Patricia Cutter in the Addolorata Cemetery thanks to the Commonwealth Graves Commission staff who assisted me. The family would love a photo of the site if anyone is local to the area.
