OAKLEY Albert Ernest

Poppy Cross at the base of St Michael and All Angels War Memorial, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

Private 9013, 1st East Lancashire Regiment, formerly Private 8421, King's Own Scottish Borderers, killed in action 2nd November 1914. He was born at Matlock, Derbyshire and lived at Preston, Lancashire. He was the husband of F.M.Oakley of 250 Mansfield Road, Sutton in Ashfield. He is commemorated on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
