Margaret Cameron YOUNG. Nurse VAD (Belfast 12). attached to 2nd General Hospital, Le Havre, France. Born 28 March 1893 in Belfast, Ireland to Thomas and Amelia Young, nee Cameron of 78 Harding Street, Belfast. 1901 residing with her parents and siblings at 18 Newington Avenue, and 1911 at 19 Newington Avenue Belfast, Ireland. Joined the VAD 12 October 1915, residing at 37 Newington Avenue, Belfast. Posted to France in 1915. Awarded two scarlet stripes 6 May 1918
Died of cerebro-spinal meningitis her hospital 30 July 1918 aged 25 years. After three years of nursing in France was laid to rest in Terlingthon Cemetery on 2nd August 1918.

Her mother was granted a war gratuity 1 March 1919 revised 4 December 1919.
Commemorated on her father’s memorial in Shankill Graveyard, Shankill, Belfast Northern Ireland.
