Major Lancelot Edwards. The Lincolnshire Regiment.
Who died at Bologne of wounds received in action near Ypres while commanding the 1st Battalion The Lincolnshire regiment. He commanded the Depot at Lincoln from 1912 till 1914 and it is largely to his sympathy and interest that this chapel owes its restoration.
Born April 17 1870. Died April 15 1915.
Christ faithful Soldier and Servant unto his life's end.
He was son of James George and Ellen Hester Edwards.
1871 with his sister Elinor at the home of their grandparents James and Louise Clutterbuck at The Vicarage of Long Wittenham, Berkshire.
He was married in the September quarter 1907 in the registration district of Ross on the border of Gloucestershire and Herefordshire 1907 to Frances Helen Currey
A war gratuity was granted to his widow 11 September 1919.

Died of wounds 15th April 1915 age 45. Son of Mrs and Mrs James Edwards of Broughton, Hampshire. Served in Soudan and the South African Campaigns.
At rest in Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.
