K130 James Joseph DWYER, Stoker Petty Officer 8017, (formerly 279217) HMAS Brisbane, Royal Australian Navy. Born 20 October 1870 at Rosses Point, Co Sligo Ireland to Patrick and Bridget Dwyer. Husband of Mary Kate Dwyer, of Upper Rosses Point, Sligo, Ireland. Joined the Royal Navy on the 2nd January 1907 and joined the Royal Australian Navy on the 1st February 1913. On the 8th June 1914 he passed his examination for Petty Officer Stoker in Australia. Died in Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta 7th May 1917 aged 46 years of an aortic aneurysm.
At rest in Plot K Grave 130 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
