Born 07 September 1887 at 01 Woodland Avenue, Belfast to John and Rosa Hurst McClinton, formerly McFadden
1901 with his parents at 96 University Street, Belfast.
Killed in France 05 July 1916 aged 29 years.
A gratuity was granted to his father 17 January 1917.
Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
Commemorated on a family grave in Belfast City Cemetery, Northern Ireland.

For conspicuous gallantry in action. He kept his company in hand with great determination under heavy fire, and finally led it over "No Man's Land" into the enemy's lines. Later, he did fine work in organizing the defences of the captured trenches

At rest in Belfast City Cemetery, Northern Ireland.
