Extended Description: John Charles Fitzgerald KEATINGE, Lieutenant 278673, 2nd Armoured Battalion, Irish Guards, killed in action in Normandy 4th August 1944 aged 20. Son of Gerald Fitzmaurice and Margaret Evelyn of Codnor, Derbyshire. Scholas elect, Kings College, Cambridge. Buried in St Charles De Percy War Cemetery, Calvados, Derbyshire The inscription reads, The shield of Arms and Roof Trussess of this church were replaced and repaired in memory of John Charles Fitzgerald Keatinge sometime senior Commoner Prefect at Winchester College: Scholar Elect of Kings College, Cambridge:
