John Austin Campion. Sailor, Merchant Navy on S.S. Cortona (Glasgow)
Born 1916 at Bootle, Merseyside, England to John and Mary Elkington Campion, nee Shakeshaft.
Husband of Edna Campion, of Tranmere, Birkenhead.
Lost at sea 11 July 1942 aged 26 years on the sinking of his ship bu U-201 in the North Atlantic, east of Newfoundland

This memorial can be seen at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
