John Arthur Colin KEMMETT. Flight Sergeant, Pilot 1314338, Royal Air Force (VR) died 3rd December 1943 aged 20 in the Registration District of Wensleydale. Son of Sidney and Flora May Kemmett, of Gloucester. At rest together in Coney Hill Cemetery, Gloucester, Gloucestershire.

On 3rd December 1943 the crew of this aircraft were undertaking an early morning weather reconnaissance flight when the aircraft was reported overdue and then later as missing. Two weeks later it was found to have crashed on West Bolton Moor, north of Askrigg, on the northern side of Wensleydale. The two airmen had been killed in the impact and they would be the Unit's only fatalities of the War.

Ground Crew - LAC Arthur Theodore Barnson RCAF (R/91572), aged 21, of Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. Buried Harrow Cemetery (Sec 13, Row 2091).
