Canadian Infantry
Died 16 September 1916 aged 21

Son of Alfred and Jane Meek, of Lea Line, nr. Ross, Herefordshire.

Some notes form his arm records -

He joined up aged 19 years and 11 months in Canada. Occupation prior to enlistment farm labourer. He was born at Lea Line, Ross, Herefordshire and his father was his next of kin. He embarked from Montreal Canada on 4 September 1915. 15 May 1915 he was admitted into 5th Canadian Field Ambulance suffering from influenza. Discharged fit for duty 18 May 1915. 15 September 1916 he died of his wounds at 1st Midlands Casualty Clearing Station.
At rest at Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France.

Longhope All Saints Churchyard, Gloucestershire.
