He was the son of Harriet Hollins . Found only the first page of his army record, although there should have been 10 pages Enlisted 16th June 1914 as private 11709 2nd Salford Bn, Lancashire Fusiliers. Gave his age as 38 and occupation as a collier.
Medal card shows he enlisted 16th June 1914 and was discharged from the army under para 592 (XVI0 King's Regulation on the 24th May 1915 as being sick. It also shows that he was Pte 11709, 2nd Salford, Bn, Cpl 3644 Lancashire Fusiliers and 204314, Rifle Brigade
