Herbert Thomas PARKER. John Charles COLLINGS. Alexander Brotherstone SMAIL.

Extended Description
PARKER Herbert Thomas. Private, 1944, 22nd, Australian Infantry. Died of dysentery, 24th November 1915, aged 27 years. The son of John Goldsack Parker and Fanny Steward Parker, of Monbulk Post Office, Victoria, Australia .
Some notes from his army records -
He joined up on the 19th January 1915 aged 27, and was a labourer by occupation. Born at South Yarra, Victoria. He was at the Depot from the 25th January 1915, drafted to the 22nd Battalion on the 23rd June 1915, and embarked at Melbourne on H.M.A.T. Anchesis on the 26th August 1915, taken on strength at Gallipoli on the 25th October 1915. He was taken ill with dysentery and treated at No6 Field Ambulance, Anzac on the 15th November 1915, transferred same day to 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Hospital, Gallipoli beachhead. On the 16th November 1915 he was invalided on Hospital Ship Galeka, for a hospital in Malta where he died on the 24th and laid to rest on the 25th November 1915.

COLLINGS John Charles. Private, 20482, 7th Gloucestershire Regiment. Died of sickness in Malta on the 25th November 1915, aged 24 years, from a disease contracted at Gallipoli. Son of John and Jane Collings, of 31 Western Road, St. Mary Church, Torquay.

SMAIL Alexander Brotherstone. Private, 6474, 1/4th King’s Own Scottish Borderers. Died 25th November 1915 at St Andrews Military Hospital, Malta from wounds of disease received while on active service at the Dardanelles. Son of Alexander and Jessie and brother of Walter, Jessie and Bessie who were granted part of a war gratuity granted on the 17th March 1916.
