Henry LEWER. Infant son of Bessie nee Shaw and Staff Assistant Surgeon Alfred Lewer. Born 10 September 1871 died 21 October 1871.

He passed away 3 October 1923 aged 86 years. He resided at 85 Herbert Road, Plumstead, Wimborne Minister, Dorset.

Surgeon Major Alfred Lewer was educated at King's College London. He took the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1858, the Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries in 1859 and the Licentiate of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1860. He entered the Army Medical Department as an assistant surgeon in 1858.

Surgeon Major Alfred Lewer served in the Royal Artillery until the regimental system was abolished. He was with the Royal Artillery at Ahmedabad, Dreba (1866–1869) and Bangalore. He became a surgeon major on 21 January 1874, and retired from the services on 23 May 1891.
