CWGC - Harry WEBB. Private 16884, 1st South Staffordshire Regiment.
Born 1883 at Wednesbury, Staffordshire to William Painter and Annie Elizabeth Webb, nee Osbourne. 1891-1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 3, No 3 Court, Darlaston Road, Wednesbury, Staffordshire. Husband of Mary Jane Barnett who he married in March 1911 at St James, Wednesbury, Staffordshire. 1911 residing with his wife and his in-laws Moses and Hannah Barnet at 47 Meeting Street, Wednesbury, Staffordshire
Killed in action 1 July 1916. War gratuity granted to widow, revised 14 October 1919.
Commemorated on the Thiepval memorial, Somme, France
This poppy cross was at the Staffordshire Regiment Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire on the 11 November 2018
