Harold CRAWLEY.

Harold James CRAWLEY. Able Seaman J492 Royal Navy on , HMS Triumph, Born 12th June 1890, at Bethnal Green, baptised 7th July 1890 at Bethnal Sreen, St Thomas, Tower Hamlets. Parents John and Alice Caroline Crawley, nee White. In 1901 he was in a children home, Hornchurch Cottage Homes, Hornchurch, Essex aged 11. Enlisted 19th February 1908, occupation prior to enlistment, factory lad. Died 15th March 1910 aged 19 years 8 months from a fracture of the base of his skull when he fell into No 4 Dry Dock, Malta. This memorial was erected by the Captain, Officers and Ship's Company as a token of respect. His mother was informed of his death on the 15th March 1910. At rest in Plot B Grave 180, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta. N.B. Birth date on his naval record.
