Sergeant 50652 George Charles LEWIS, Royal Horse Artillery, 3 March 1917. aged 49. He enlisted into the army 18th January 1889 at New Town, Montgomeryshire as Private 70363 Royal Horse Artillery. He was discharged from the army on the 13th March 1911.He rejoined the Royal Horse Artillery as Sergeant 50652 on the 2nd November 1914 in London after already having served 22 years. his age was 45 years and 7 months He gave his residence as 9, New Street, St John's Wood, London and his occupation as a Park Keeper. He was discharged with the rank of Sergeant, as being no longer physically fit for war service of the 1st January 1916. He was the son of Sarah Lewis of 18, Bramler Street, Stafford. He is buried in St Mary's Churchyard, Castle Church, Staffordshire
