G006 HENRY EDWARD RAPER. Surgeon Royal Navy on HMS Vulcan. Born 4 February 1874 in the registration district of Battle, Sussex to William Augustus and Mary Ann Raper nee Ellis of Upper Lake, Battle. Appointed Surgeon on 23 May 1898. 1901 serving on board HMS Repulse in Gibraltar as a surgeon aged 27 years. Died at Royal Navy Hospital, Bighi, Malta 27 September 1904 aged 30 years of Mediterranean fever and double pneumonia. Wills and Admin, Ancestry - He died on dated and country stated. His effects went to his father, solicitor.
