Sergeant, Wireless Operator, Air Gunner 1183344, Frederick Herbert Slatford. 218, Gold Coast Squadron, RAFVR. Died 30th May 1942 aged 21. Son of Fred and Hester Lea of Trowbridge, Wiltshire.
He was part crew of eight and a Short Stirling W7535 which took off at RAF Marham, County Norfolk on a night bombing operation over Gennevilliers- Gnome & Rhone factory. The aircraft crashed at Colombes in the outskirts of Paris. No survivors.
