Frederick DICKENS. Private 11574, 8th Cheshire Regiment. Born 1891 to William and Harriet Dickens, nee Beech of South Bank, Great Budworth, Cheshire. In 1911 he was still residing with his parents and siblings at South Bank. Died of wounds on board Hoop ship, (HMHS) S.S. Devanha and buried at sea 6 September 1915 aged 25 years. His father William was granted a war gratuity 5 January 1916 revised 9 September 1919.
Commemorated on family memorial in St Mary and All Saints Churchyard, Great Budworth, Cheshire. Also commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey including Gallipoli
