Frank SHENTON. Private 61449, 12th (Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry) Manchester Regiment, formerly 40330 South Lancashire Regiment killed in action on the 1st September 1918 aged 30. Son of Thomas and Elizabeth Shenton of (1891) 57, Under Wood Lane, Crewe, Cheshire. 1901 his mother has now remarried to James Lowe and living as a family at 13 Stafford Street, Crewe. 1911 living with his widowed mother and a brother, now at 13 Stafford Street, Crewe. He was a self employed Hairdresser & Tobacconist. Husband of Dora Shenton, nee Hickman of The Crown Hotel, Tarporley, Cheshire. Commemorated on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial, France.
