hello, this is a photo of my great uncle. I posted it on Ancestry - it's my writing on the side! Please advise, who is Linda FT ? The rest of the details are also from my research. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Here is a copy of the message I sent to 'Lindatayla' on Ancestry and her reply. As you see, she is the person who gave me authority to use the image. Hope this helps. I will remove the photograph if you wish me to.

"I am researching servicemen buried at Capuccini (Kalkara) Naval Cemetery, Malta. I see you have photograph of Francis James Beard and I was wondering if I could have your permission to upload the photo to accompany my photo of his headstone on to militaryimages.net and flickr. Of course you will be given credit for the photograph.
At rest in Plot D Grave 475 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.

I have a look at my family tree and I can find no family connection.

Hello , sorry I haven't got back to you earlier been away on holiday, yes by all means upload the photo.
cheers Linda :)"

Hi Lesley
Thank you for your reply. I do agree with you, Lindatayla was cheeky to give the permission when it was not hers to give. When I was doing my research, the photo on her tree was the only one that came up on a search in Ancestry, hence I contacted her. I ask for permission to use photographs from Ancestry, family trees as I do all my research through Nat. Archives, Naval/Army records etc, etc. I find a lot of family trees having very misleading info on them and I never use there info. I didn't see your certificates on Lindatayla's site as I was only interested in the photo. I have photographed all service and service dependant graves throughout Malta and am almost finished researching each and every one. I like to try and put a face to a serviceman, trying to keep their memory alive if possible. When you visit Kalkarra/Capuccini Military Cemetery, make sure you take the grave location and number with you as there are 'rather a lot' of graves there. It is a beautiful peaceful cemetery, as are Pieta, Imtara and Pembroke (all run by CWGC). I will amend this site and credit the photo to you in the morning.
Good night and I forgot to say, welcome to Military Images.
