Born 20 January 1896 to George and Emily Lean
1901 Irish Census with his parents and siblings at 29 Crosby Street, Woodvale, Belfast Ireland
Died 17 November 1971 aged 75. Last place of residence 57 Beresford Street Belfast Northern Ireland. At rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Ballygowan Road, Belfast,

Joined the Royal Irish Rifles as Rifleman 18/811 aged 19, 11 November 1915, demobilised 3 March 1919.
Fought at the Somme France and Ypres Belgium.

Served his country again in WW 2

Joined up aged 43, 21 September 1939 as Gunner Royal Artillery, demobilised 10 September 1945.
Fought in North Africa (Tobruk-El Alamein)
