BAGSHAWE Leonard Vale, Captain, 3rd Kings Own Scottish Borderers died 16th June 1915. Son of William Augustus Edward Vale and Alioce Katherine, nee Partridge of Stockerton Road, Uppingham, Rutland. Commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial

BARBER Herbert Graham [M.C] Captain, 2/4th, Hallamshire Battalion Territorial Yorkshire and Lancaster Regiment. Son of Herbert and Isabel of "Elmfield" Northumberland Road, Sheffield, and brother of Maurice who also fell. A Director of Messers Daniel Doncaster and Sons Ltd Sheffield. Killed in action 7th July 1916 age 31. Buried at Authuile Military Cemetery, France

BARBER Maurice, Captain 2/4th, Hallamshire Battalion Territorial Yorkshire and Lancaster Regiment killed in action 26th November 1917 age 25. Son of Herbert and Isabel of The Firs Done, Sheffield, and brother of Leonard who also fell. Buried at Cambrai Memorial Louverval, France

BATES Robert Bratby Private 3499, 1/4th Northumberland Fusiliers, killed in action 15th September 1916. Son of Henry and Rosanna of 10 West Road, Spondon Village, Derbyshire, and was a resident of Bakewell Derbyshire. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial France

BOWERING Allan Private 50396, 15th Sherwood Foresters Notts and Derby Regiment killed in action 28th Narch 1918, 24. In 1901 he was lodging with Hannah Hutchinson and at the age of 7 his occupation was given as Gardeners Labourer. He was born at Beeley, nr EDENSOR and is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France. The CWGC have his surname as BOWRING which is his true surname

BRUMBY Harry Lance Corporal 241493, 1/6th Sherwood Foresters Notts and Derby Regiment, died of wounds 18th May 1918 age 24. Son of William and Emma of Pilsley, Derbyshire. Native of EDENSOR and is buried at Pernes British Cemetery, France

CAVENDISH, Lord John Spencer, [D.S.O] Major 1st Life Guards killed in action 20th October 1914 age 42, Son of Lord and Lady Cavendish. Born in London and is buried at Cabaret-Rouge British Cemetery, Souchez, France

CHANDLER Sydney John Lance Corporal 6469, 8th Northumberland Fusiliers killed in action 19th August 1915 age 25. Son of George and Jane Chandler of the Police House, Kingston Wiltshire. Born in Trowbridge Wiltshire and is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Turkey. Sidney is the correct spelling for his 1st name and this memoral have him inscribed as Sydney Chandler

Only son of Edward and Annie Edwards of Moorfield Cottage, Pulford, Wrexham. Native of Tattersall Cheshire, resident of Bakewell and is buried at St Sever Cemetery, Rouen.

FEARNLEY John Private 41137, 13th Royal Scots, Formerly 58386 Royal Army Service Corps, 9967 Notts and Derby Regiment and 201793 Royal Scottish Fusiliers killed in action 11th April 1917, age 38 Native of Astley, Lancs, in residence at Bakewell and enlisted at Pilsley Derbyshire. Son of John and Martha Fearnley and husband of Elizabeth Ellen Fearnley now Hibbert of The Cottage, Grange Avenue, Levenshulme, Manchester. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France

Equerry-in-Ordinary to King George V when Prince of Wales, 1909-10 and Equerry to His Majesty, 1910-1914. Sometime A.D.C. to Field Marshal Earl Roberts. Awarded the M.V.O. Buried at Ypres Town Cemetery, Belgium
