- E020 Frederick BEDFORD. Lieutenant, Royal Navy HMS St.Angelo. Drowned 21st February 1942 aged 22 years as the result of a plane crash. Son of Gladys, nee Mort and Vice-Admiral Arthur Edward Frederick Bedford, C.B., C.S.I. of Easthampnett, Sussex. Admin, Ancestry - His residence in England was Boxgrove, near Chichester. His effects went to his father.
His father died suddenly aboard H.M.S. Sheffield lying in the Grand Harbour, Malta 5 December 1949. He was buried at sea off Malta and his memorial is in St Paul’s Pro Cathedral, Valletta.
