- Count Paul (Paolo) BERNARD. Colonel Royal Malta Artillery. Died 1913. Husband of Countess Madeline Bernard
Paolo (Paul) BERNARD was born on 24th September 1841. He joined the Royal Malta Fencible Regiment as an Ensign on 17th September 1858 and promoted to Lieutenant on 25th January 1861 when the Regiment changed its title to Royal Malta Fencible Artillery. He was the Adjutant from 1st August 1868 until 9th November 1877. Further promotion to Captain took place on 5th September 1877, and Major on 10th November 1885. The Regiment changed its title again in 1889, and with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel he was the Commanding Officer of the Royal Malta Artillery from 17th February 1897 until he retired on 24th September 1901
Reginald Ludovico BERNARD. Appointed 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Malta Regiment of Militia on 5th January 1893. Born 1870 in Malta to Major LudovIco and Carmela Bernard. Died in Malta 1938. See father's headstone for details.
Arthur VELLA. Captain Royal Malta Artillery. born on 1st September 1870. He served as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Malta Regiment of Militia then joined the Royal Malta Artillery with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant on 16th November 1892. He was promoted to Lieutenant on 16th November 1895 and Captain on 1st April 1899. He was the Adjutant from 12th November 1899 until his death on 21st July 1902. He was the husband of Victorine Emma Falzon, nee Bernard.
