Belgium Minerva Armoured car
The first effective use of an armoured vehicle in combat was achieved by the Belgian Army in August–September 1914. They had placed Cockerill armour plating and a Hotchkiss machine gun on Minerva touring cars. Their successes in the early days of the war convinced the Belgian GHQ to create a Corps of Armoured Cars. After the Western Front became bogged down in trench warfare some of the cars were sent to the Eastern Front with the Belgian Expeditionary Corps in Russia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minerva_Armored_Car
