They repair and or remove lighthouse electrical (under water ) cables / they also do buoys repair and replacement as well they repair or replace all kinds of aids to navigation on the great lakes such as light makers etc,. They were based in Detroit but moved this past summer to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan assigned to the Buckthorn WLI 642. In winter the cable boat is inactive due to ice so they do duty on the Buckthorn or work on the cable boat getting it ready for spring.
