Colin Patrick DUNLOP. Reserve Constable, Royal Ulster Constabulary. Fatally shot dead 31 May 1981 while on hospital duty at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. He was on duty with a colleague at the only entrance and exit to the Intensive Care Unit. One terrorist posing, as doctor, came through the swing doors from the main corridor and shot Colin, his RUCR colleague was saved as he had gone to the toilet.
The Author, knew Colin, and had previously done duty with him in this unit and other wards in the Royal Victoria Hospital.
At rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Ballygowan Road, Crossnacreevy, County Down.
