Memorial Plaque with inscription on her headstone in Coney Hill Cemetery, Gloucestershire.

Cassandra Jane Caroline GYLBY of this city who met her death through an accident on the night the 25th June 1940 whilst proceeding to duty as an Air Raid Warden aged 54 years. She died of her injuries in Royal Infirmary, Gloucester City. It appears she was shot by LDV sentry, (Home Guard). Her home address was 19 Armscroft Way, Gloucester. She was baptised St James Church, Gloucester on the 22nd December 1886 daughter of Frederick and Jane. At the time of her baptism they were living at 11 Daventry Terrace, Gloucester Please note her memorial shows she died on the 20th. At rest in Coney Hill Cemetery, Gloucester, Gloucestershire.
