Burial at sea

HMS Sheffield ships' company, and German survivors from the Freidrich Breme muster to honour the German dead from the action.
I notice here that it is a German burial, its really good to see that the Royal Navy chaps are bowing there heads and showing their respect for the brave servicemen from "the other side". Hollywood film makers would have us believe that war is about Us and them and that no thought is ever considered for the servicemen of the opposing forces. This Photo shows how wrong they are and that in a strange and Ironic way we feel for every serviceman lost no matter what side they fight for.
An absolutely sobering and refreshing sight

Webmaster you hit the nail on the head there
at the end of the day we are all human we all live breath and die,
once a combatant is removed from the field of conflict he should be treated
with all the respect he deserve. i know that there have been some bad
episodes where prisoners have been mistreated, but that does not give
us the right to sink to there level, as i said at the end of the day we are all human.
