Tree planted for
Private 24722008 Blair Edgar Morris Bishop. Light Infantry.
He was part of a party of 36 soldier’s of The Light Infantry who were being transported in an unmarked bus from RAF Aldergrove to the base their base near Omagh after returning from R and R. in England on the night of the 19th/20th August 1988
As the bus approached Curr near Ballygawley,, County Tyrone a road side bomb was detonated by the IRA after midnight, the 20th destroying the bus. He and seven others were killed and 28 were injured some seriously He was aged 19
At rest in St Martins Churchyard, Hereford.
This memorial tree plaque is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire.
