- Arthur Basil SMITH. Lance Corporal 4979619, 14th Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Born 1918 to Reuben and Ada Smith, nee Horsley. Died on active service at Anzio 26 March 1944 aged 26 years.
Commemorated on his parents’ memorial at Park Cemetery, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. At rest in Beach Head War Cemetery, Anzio, Italy.
