- Corporal Arthur Rice BIRCH No. 15059 6th (Reserve) Bn. Canadian Infantry 8th Winnipeg Regiment , Fort Gary Horse, H Company, 1st Canadian Contingent.
Died 1 January 1915 aged 25 of diabetes at his father's home.
Born 13 July 1889 to Thomas and Martha Birch 25 Bishop Street, Cherry Orchard, Shrewsbury and by occupation was a bank clerk. He enlisted 24 September 1914 at Valcartier, Quebec.
At rest at Shrewsbury Cemetery, Shropshire.
