Born 17 November 1909 (Birth Registered at Alfred) at Uttoxeter Staffordshire to Alfred and Annie Jane Smith nee Harvey.
1911 with his parents and sister at 6 Silver Street, Uttoxeter.
1939 census with his wife Edith Alice, nee Savin at 101a Earls Court Road, Amesbury Wiltshire, status, Flight Sergeant RAF.

Commemorated on a memorial plaque at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire
