Alan John (Wally) WALTON. Private 24020375, 3rd Parachute Regiment. Born 20th October 1948 and died 22nd January 1969 aged 20 . IN LOVING MEMORY OF A DEAR SON AND GRANDSON. REST IN PEACE.

He developed encephalitis, an acute inflammation of the brain, while serving at St Andrew’s Barracks, Paceville, Malta .
Pte Walton was admitted to the Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, on 18 January but sadly died at 10:40 hours on 22 January 1969.
