Adair CARR-BOYD, Sergeant, 1725, 2nd Battalion, Australian Infantry. Died of enteric fever, 30th July 1915, aged 29 years. The son of John Adair Carr-Boyd and Rose Anna Carr-Boyd, of Argyle Cottage, Belgravia, Inverell, New South Wales, Australia. Born at Glen Innes, New South Wales.
Some notes from his army record. He joined up on the 28th August 1914 aged 27 years and 10 months. His occupation was a wool buyer, and he lived at Glen Innes, New South Wales. He was posted to his unit as private 716. For some unknown reason he was medically discharged unfit at Albany on the 31st October 1914 and date unknown he re-enlisted as Private 1725. His next of kin was his father John of Argyle Cottage, Belgravia, Inversell. On 10th April 1915 he joined his unit at Gallipoli and on 9th June 1915 was admitted to Australian 2nd Field Ambulance at Gaba Tepe suffering from diarrhoea. On the 13th July 1915 he disembarked Gallipoli to a hospital in Malta on Hospital Ship, Clan Moe and was admitted on the same day into Imtarfa Hospital. On the 22nd July 1915 he was transferred to St Andrews Hospital, Malta where he died at 6 15pm of enteric fever

Some notes from his army record.
He joined up on the 28th August 1914 aged 24. He was born at Landsborough, Victoria, Australia and was by occupation a saddler. He was posted to Victoria Barracks, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia and put into C Squadron. His next of kin was his widowed mother Louisa who lived at the same address. On the 20th May 1915 he embarked Australia for Alexandria. His record show some conflicting details. On the 21st July 1915 while in action he suffered a compound fracture to his skull and was treated at 1st Australian Casualty Clearing Station, Anzac. On the 28th he was admitted to hospital in Malta from Hospital Ship Sicilia.. On the 29th July it was recorded that he was dangerously ill and that he died on the 2nd August 1915 from a gun shot wound to his chest and he was buried at Pieta Military Cemetery on the 2nd August 1915 by W.G.Pearce. Another entry recorded that he died of wounds in hospital on the 31st July 1915. A telegram was sent to his mother informing her of his death. She was not told, as she was very ill in hospital. She died on the 8th August 1915.
John Henry LYTHGOE, Private, 12331, 6th Battalion, Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment, died 2nd August 1915, aged 23 years. The husband of Mrs. F. Kelshaw (formerly Lythgoe), of 6 Belfort Street, Salford, Manchester.
