B1A Lancer prototype. A combination of the development of stealth and cruise missiles, plus the Soviet development of look-down/shoot-down radar lead to its cancellation by the Carter administration in 1977.
It would be resurrected as the very different (and much cheaper) B1B under the Regan administration.
