General FYI from the Mods:

We’ll leave this thread open until at least JoeBi is officially attending his inauguration in January.

Please keep things civil in the meantime.

Then we will probably lock it down and any members will be free to start a “All things Biden”, or a more general “American politics” thread.

Thanks.
Can we call it, things joe needs to remember?? Please???

Leading stories for the snowflake sjw press in NZ is " what does biden presidency mean for the world" what a biden presidency will look like"
Well beside his family entourage the rest is an enigma.

Salty Republicans tears, and the whole left is gloating if not laughing out loud.

It’s feel good to be center or in other words: neutral.

I'm not really neutral to be honest. Never liked Trump and never will (except from The Apprentice time, that show was f***ing amazing). Old friend of Bill and Hillary & businessman with shady past who crashed in the Republican Primaries. That's what I saw in 2016 and still don't know why so many Americans saw the Messiah. Back then I was watching this stuff closely, ready to argue with Trump supporters in details, but eventually stop giving S**t. So now this Biden victory really catches me off guard... I'm kinda happy, but still not sure is this good or bad, is legit or not, don't even ask, the dog eat my homework.

Unfortunately, this election will have a permanent stain of corruption and fraud.. The Dems had 4 years to prepare after Hllary's defeat and among other things, Trump has been able to uncover just how willing the Dems are to cheat, lie and steal to win. The recounts and investigations will continue. I'm sad for my country because Trump is the most effective President of my lifetime. So effective that I have to wonder what in the hell where all those other guys doing? It also makes me realize my votes for McCain and Romney would have been to elect someone exactly like Barack Obama, George Bush and now.....Sleepy Joe. Can't keep hiden' Biden now, he's got to come out of that basement and take charge. I'm sure the press will make every effort to drag him thru his Presidency like they did the election. Unfortunately now that they too have been revealed as partisan hacks and propagandists, huge swaths of the country don't trust them either. With Biden, we go back to politics as usual. Don't solve any problems, just keep talking about them so they can be used as campaign issues. On and on it goes...a great example of that was John McCain.

Dan Crenshaw on twitter..

If Trump loses, he loses,” Crenshaw, an Afghanistan War veteran, wrote on Twitter. “But the unfortunate reality is that there is very little trust in the process, where irregularities have been flagrant and transparency lacking. It should not be partisan to suggest calmly that investigations occur and the court process plays out.”

George H.W. Bush was voted out of office despite lifting the Vietnam curse. That git Barack Obama got elected not once but twice. Of course the American people (like any other nation) is perfectly capable of crowning the biggest turd in the room, and disregard merits and perfomances in the process.

Besides, it's far from being meaningless that even Fox calls on Trump to resign himself to defeat. Trump's behaviour is undignified and actually embarassing to watch. He's filed his lawsuits – now let him wait for a decision. But I'm afraid that in keeping with conspiracy theory etiquette he'd just start denouncing the courts should they decide against him.

well, as powerless as many of us feel when we watch justice go unserved on those who absolutely deserve it, who else would fight for Trump if not Trump himself? That he has the means and ability to do so when so many of us in so much of life are powerless, even when we KNOW we are correct, why not? There are really only two scenarios...fraud is uncovered, or not. whether the magnitude of the fraud is enough to change the results, I would hope you would understand to be in everyones best interests. If fraud is uncovered, hopefully it becomes something for a bipartisan effort to make sure that it doesnt happen again. standardize the whole procedure. time to stop different states having different methodologies.
And I personally witnessed something akin to fraud when I voted. this isnt just some chimera of a deluded sore loser.
you should also remember that it is not the medias job to call the elections. they do not take any part of the electoral process here in the US.
none of this makes me a "trumpanzee" or anything. wanting to have an unquestionably fair accounting is not partisan... but in my experience, with liberals, calling out any falsehoods or lies instantly makes one a Trump fanatic/racist/ white supremacist whatever, including some of the characters on the board (looking at you telmar and minipuka).

@surfpunk

No doubt all credible allegations need to be investigated and recounts should occur in states close enough that a recount could make a difference. If I were Biden I'd have a issued a different statement, namely that since the matter's been deferred to the courts it's his to wait for the courts to issue their verdict.

But Trump's behaviour and his choice of words make it clear to me he doesn't care about justice, about the future of the country or the future of the Republican Party; he just feels personally affronted because in his world, Donald Trump is infallible.
Have to wonder what goes on in other elections anywhere else in the world. Its not like we'd have some fool-proof sytem or anyone else. But its never questioned.
Pen and paper. Mark my words, there's no safer way hold elections. It's not as sexy, and it's not to the liking of the hungry media intent on having their headline right now – but it is the safest way.

thats very possible, in your assessment of Trump right there.... and once again, like so many times before, it just doesn't matter to me.... what matters to me is truth, and accountability. I stopped listening to Trump a long time ago, and only cared about what he said that was put into action, into policy. That he could deliver his message with more decorum was never in doubt, and I wish he had more often, because when he choose to do that, he was pretty good at it. On the other hand, Obamas message was a sparkling, glossy gold plated turd. and so was his policies. Obama was as presidential as it gets, but his ideas on how to interact with the world and how to run this country were to me a dogs breakfast.
I was actually thinking about this, that hopefully we get somebody like Trump again, politically, but with a less abrasive character.
as far as voting? not sure what you mean. its a terrible system. I dont think you understood what I meant. it is far more than just pen and paper. thats not really the issue. Thats why I used the word methodology, and procedure.
every state has different ways of dealing with the national vote. that needs to change.

Why should he concede before the recounts and audits?? Didn’t Hillary tell Joe Biden just last week to never concede, under any circumstance? He’d be an idiot to concede.
