The struggle was real.......and they were going to use whatever recourses they could to that end......an EPIC conflict it was in the east.
The Germans and their allies killed 27 million (12 million military and 15 civilians) of our citizens and destroyed 30% of the national wealth.

I can recommend you the book "Captured Tanks in the Red Army", Maxim Kolomiets. Maxim Kolomiets is one of the leading experts in our country on Soviet tank forces. The book describes in detail examples of the use of captured German and Romanian tanks from the first days of the Great Patriotic War to its end.
