The Palestinians, the ones still in Palestine, have become so indoctrinated to be the hate filled victim, that even with billions and billions of dollars in aid, have a failure to thrive. The Kurds on the hand, want to move ahead at every chance. I hope they get their own homeland one day.
I agree, and I hope both get somewhere to call home. The palestinian situation is so messed up, they hate Israel, then go to work there. Maybe we could subdivide N Korea?

Jordan:
An electrical short circuit at a military warehouse on the outskirts of the Jordanian city of Zarqa caused a massive explosion on Friday morning.

The installation, east of the city, contained idle mortar bombs belonging to the armed forces, said Amjad Adaileh, minister of state for media affairs.
The Army said that an explosion occurred in one of the munitions depots under dismantling and that there were no casualties.

The installation is located away from civilian areas and it was reported that the blast could be heard 30 km away.
The army has cordoned off the area of the explosion and Civil Defense teams were able to bring the flames under control.

A committee has been formed to determine the causes of the explosion.
The army has asked citizens to “shun circulating untrue information, adding that further details will be issued later.”

How on earth can they know it was an electrical short?

Qatar has submitted a formal request to the United States to buy stealthy F-35 fighter jets, three people familiar with the deal said, in a deal that if pursued could strain U.S. ties with Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The request for the Lockheed Martin Co LMT.N jets was submitted by the Persian Gulf state in recent weeks, the people said.

A U.S. State Department spokesman said, “As a matter of policy, the United States does not confirm or comment on proposed defense sales or transfers until they are formally notified to Congress.”

The Qatari embassy in Washington, D.C. did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Israeli media had just confirmed the IDF will be purchasing SpearUAV's Ninox drones. They are encapsulated light drones that can be launched from handheld 40mm grenade launchers such as the M203, or larger versions for launch from vehicles.
It's unknown which version will be bought.

Iran's criminal rulers can thrash and flail all they want, the sanctions have been snapped back into place. I really doubt that Russia and China will risk further confrontation with the US just to sell weapons to Iran, but perhaps they are that stupid who knows. I think they have bigger fish to fry than trying to win brownie points with a crackpot regime that has shown signs of steady decline for the last four years (thanks to Trump).

Besides, Iran doesn't have the rubles to buy even a single squadron of SU-30s, unless Khamenei wants to pay them out of his billions of embezzled national wealth put aside as terror-funds or Putin decides to gift Iran some advanced weaponry. Both seem like very unlikely scenarios to me.

Israel:
The dilemma of sales of Israeli-made arms and defence technologies has sharpened with the signing of the peace agreements with the UAE and Bahrain, and soon with Sudan. These agreements, it is estimated, should lead to substantial growth in defence exports to the Gulf states, which are among the world's largest weapons purchasers.

The dilemma will shortly reach a very significant juncture. Sources inform "Globes" that several Gulf states have expressed initial interest in buying electronic missile defence systems from Israel, as well as actual military hardware to defend oil installations against missile attack. According to a source familiar with the matter, the contacts are only at a preliminary stage.

Interest has been expressed in Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd.'s Trophy active protection system for armoured vehicles, and in systems for defence against missiles fired from drones, covering radar and other detection systems, electronic interference systems, and physical interception missiles.

These contacts are taking place against the background of the involvement of the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the civil war in Yemen on the side of the government, against the Houthi rebels, who are supported by Iran. Forces of the Gulf states are fighting in this conflict in the air, on land, and by sea, and the Israeli systems could be very useful.

As far as missile defence is concerned, the interest is understandable after the attack on Saudi Arabian oil installations in September 2019, which was attributed to Iran. That attack put out of action half of Saudi Arabia's oil production capacity for several days. Iranian "suicide" unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles were used in the attack, which played no small part in pushing the Gulf states towards rapprochement with Israel and in their desire for an official alliance against the common enemy, Iran.

The transfer to the underground plant apparently built to withstand aerial bombardment was done in response to the burning down of an above-ground centrifuge-building workshop at Natanz in July, which Tehran has called an act of sabotage. It also slowed Iran's output of enriched uranium, the report showed.

"They finished installing one of the three cascades and they have started installing a second cascade," a senior diplomat said, adding that while they were being moved, these more efficient and productive machines were not operating as yet.

UAE:
The US State Department cleared sales of F-35 fighter jets and MQ-9 unmanned systems for the United Arab Emirates, making official a potential sale still opposed by many congressional Democrats.

The DoS formally approved a potential $23.4 billion arms sale to the United Arab Emirates, including up to 50 F-35s, 18 MQ-9s, and both air-to-air and air-to-ground munitions.

In a statement, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the massive arms sale package, which includes up to 50 F-35 jets worth $10.4 billion, 18 MQ-9B drones worth $2.97 billion, and $10 billion of munitions. “The proposed sale will make the UAE even more capable and interoperable with US partners in a manner fully consistent with America’s longstanding commitment to ensuring Israel’s Qualitative Military Edge,” said the statement.

Iraqi media reported that seven Katyousha rockets were fired at Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone and that they were apparently aimed at the U.S. Embassy compound.
No U.S. casualties were reported, but Iraqi military officials say one child was killed and five civilians wounded by several stray projectiles.

A pro-Iranian militia group says it fired the rockets at the embassy in retaliation for what it alleged was the U.S. arrest of three of its members in the city of Falluja, west of Baghdad. VOA could not independently confirm the claim.
A spokesman for the main pro-Iranian Kataib Hezbollah militia denied responsibility for the attack, saying in a tweet that his group was observing a “unilateral truce to allow a complete U.S. withdrawal from Iraq.”

A bipartisan group of lawmakers introduced new legislation Wednesday that would halt the Trump administration’s push to circumvent Congress and expedite a $23 billion sale of F-35 fighter jets, Reaper drones and munitions to the United Arab Emirates.

A series of resolutions were announced after lawmakers said they failed to get satisfactory answers from State Department officials over plans to sell the sophisticated weapons. Lawmakers say the administration’s rush to complete the sale is ignoring risks to sensitive military technology posed by UAE’s ties to Russia and China ― and to Israel’s qualitative military edge, or QME, in the Middle East.

^^^@morris, the following is quite relevant with regards to weapon sales to mid-east arab countries.

We now have an Israeli-Arab bloc forming in the ME against the potential empowerment of Iran by a potential Biden admin. Two US allies who used to despise one another are now closing ranks against their military sugar daddy. 2020 keeps on giving while simultaneously getting crazier in the process.
