Hello all, our Standard Bearer for British Airborne Forces (Vic) attended the recent Normandy Landing Anniversary and while touring the area he found a single headstone standing alone. it was an Aussie who had died while fighting with the RAF, the details he took down are as follows.

The information on the Australian Airman is as follows: Flight Sergeant R.J. McQuitty 408338 Age 21 Killed 24th June 1944 and buried in the Commonweath Cemetary at ST. Charles De Percy Normandy, aprox 20Km inland from Sword Beach.

We are wondering if we could track his record and find if he still has any relatives here in Australia we could contact and tell them about the grave and headstone.

Your help would be appreciated.

Mike
