Yes. The situation should have never deteriorated like that IMO. Come on now, it's not like this wasn't expected in terms of rioting and violence given the events of this summer. Where were the cops and National Guard? Why weren't there more of them, Kenosha is not that big a city FFS. It's really shocking that we're shooting each other down in the streets, not that this kid was't justified, but this has got to stop.

Democrat mayors and governors having caved and/or lacking testicular fortitude, thus having them rather appease the "protestors" by letting them "protest" than actually protecting the communities they are responsible for, allowed this to happen.
"They will do their thing and then they will calm down and everything will go back to normal. And I'll gather a few brownie points along the way and thus securing a possible reelection."
People saw the "protestors" were allowed to do whatever they wanted without facing any kind of repercussion and, at times, were even endorsed, congratulated, encouraged to keep on going; be it by the media and by political leaders.
Chicago, Seattle, Portland, etc... violence has been going on for more than three months now and yet... there is no sign suggesting things are going to get under control.

You live in a very calm country that is Slovakia. It's not the country where 50+ officers are killed by criminals every year. If American cops did not behave the way they do,that number would be 200+ easily.

Yep. And now, the left is getting concerned about the riots. Why? Is it because this leftist freak show of lawless thugs that have been given free rein to burn, loot, assault and destroy has been seen as wrong? No. It's beginning to show up in the polls! Can't have that. Can't condemn the riots and violence, the anti-police rhetoric and the dramatic increase in violent crime because the security of the people is important. Nope.

I am older than you and have lived in more places than you have... no offence but I've seen my share of the world.
I lived 8 years in the USA in the seventies and eighties, and there were Blacks, the 2nd amendment, and stuff was'nt at this level. We lived in New York which was riddled with violent crime but it was'nt like this.
The USA has a huge problem with gang violence, a enormous flow of illegal weapons, and things are maybe tougher than what they were. Yet, shooting at point blank 7 times a suspect who is walking towards his car where there might be a gun remains a police clusterfuck. Stepping on someone's neck for 16 minutes even though he is unarmed and handcuffed is a police clusterfuck.
There were ways to prevent the guy to getting to his car including shooting him. But he was executed like an african war lord by a trained police officer. Honestly some people here would defend the police officer if he would have reloaded and shot again.
