I share with you an interesting collection of pictures showing one of the projects launched at the end of World War II by Germany as part of its war effort to try to avoid the increasingly Allied bombing. The big question remains whether this rocket plane had been built in greater quantities and earlier would have changed the final outcome? What do you think? A rocket powered interceptor
This had 24 70mm rockets in its nose cone.
after attacking the bombers the pilot had to activate explosive bolts that jettisoned the nose of the aircraft, then pull a lever that would deploy a parachute at the rear of the plane. When the parachute deployed it would throw the pilot out of his seat and he would then deploy his parachute. The rear of the aircraft could then be recovered and re used.
 
Odd looking aircraft will see if I can get some tech data for it.
