I like guns, but I especially love do-it-yourself ranged tools and devices.

Here's my favorite videos from my favorite brawny German savant:

you are going to get me locked up
Why would you get locked up? You're just looking at sports equipment. ;)

Anyway, the ingenuity of people is amazing:

I really like this, it would be the perfect self defense/home defense device available to those living in nations with strict gun control laws.

Though I wonder if falls under slingshot category or crossbow category as far as the law is concerned. Crossbow laws state that the weapon has to have a trigger, and I guess those levers are technically triggers.

If he got rid of those levelers and just used his fingers to release the sling, would it count as a crossbow or a slingshot?

He made a pump-action, magazine-based, compound bow.

It's cool how he managed to get around the crossbow legalities since you have to keep the bow drawn (thereby defeating the stored energy definition) and the trigger he uses is no different from a release aid used with compound bows.

Meaning this bow is technically legal in places in the world that prohibit crossbows.

The auto-crossbow is a reality. But man does that look dangerous to the user.

If ever one was to invent and patent a device. My advice would be that the first port of call is with the US patent office as a pro se inventor. They are the most helpful.
